Essay
  • Prepare an essay to explain your reason for enrolling in a Doctor of Nursing Practice Program. The essay should be no more than 500 words. You should address the following questions:
    1. Describe your area of practice interest. Explain how the DNP degree advances your career goals (specifically describe the elements of the doctoral program that will contribute to your goals).
    2. Describe the population and problem you are interested in studying for your DNP Capstone/Scholarly Project.
    3. Describe one or two evidence-based strategies for improving the practice-based problem you have identified. Citations of relevant resources should be used to support your strategies.
Resume

  • The Resume is an important component of the application for the TAMU-CC Doctor of Nursing Practice program. Use this opportunity to demonstrate your professional expertise and level of engagement in nursing practice. Provide sufficient details so the Admission Progression and Graduation Committee can determine your potential for clinical practice at the most advanced level. Make sure to highlight your accomplishments as an RN after earning your graduate degree. This resume should not simply be a summary of your employment. It should include an outline of your professional and scholarly activities. Employment and accomplishment should be listed in reverse chronology- start with most recent work. It may be more than one page in length. Your resume should include:
    • Name and contact information,
    • Education ( date and name of all institutions attended; degrees earned),
    • Professional licensures and national specialty certifications,
    • Employment (use the asterisk [*] to indicate advanced positions; provide sufficient information about the functions performed in the positions to demonstrate your expertise in your practice),
