Dr. Steven Seidel has been named College of Graduate Studies Fellow.
As the inaugural College of Graduate Studies (CGS) Fellow, Seidel will work with CGS staff and A&M-Corpus Christi faculty and staff to develop and implement a robust graduate student professional development program with two tracks: a professoriate and a workforce fellow.
Responsibilities for this position include working with graduate programs to develop a landscape of current professional development initiatives; identifying graduate student retention needs; developing and implementing a cohesive and comprehensive professional development strategic plan including graduate course development in collaboration with the various graduate program coordinators; developing a comprehensive needs-based services strategic plan (stats support, writing support); working to add and maintain a resources component on the graduate website and identifying internal and external resources to support retention and professional development activities for graduate students.
Dr. JoAnn Canales, Dean of the College of Graduate Studies, said, “I am delighted to have Dr. Seidel on board to bring this very important component of the College of Graduate Studies to fruition.
